Today’s writing advice comes from Marc Cameron, author of the popular Jericho Quinn thriller series. His new book in this series, State of Emergency, comes out on April 30, 2013. This is Marc’s advice:
I had a sci fi writer named Warren Norwood mentor me when I was just starting out. He told me he always stopped writing in the middle of an action scene—like on the back swing of a kick during a fight. That way he could begin his next writing day right in the middle of the good stuff. It made him hungry to get back to his typewriter/computer. I’ve read some quotes by Hemingway that makes me believe he worked the same way.
